Cinnamomum cassia essential oil and ( E )?cinnamaldehyde as control agents of anthracnose on common bean seeds

چکیده
Amongst the fungi that cause damage to common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) and are disseminated by seeds, Colletotrichum lindemuthianum stands out. This fungus causes anthracnose in plants. The use of natural compounds, for example essential oils (EO), is a viable safer option than chemicals manage this disease. According results vitro assay, we observed complete inhibition growth C. with Cinnamomum cassia EO its major component (E)-cinnamaldehyde, presenting MIC 125 µg/ml, whilst commercial fungicide presented 30.6 µg/ml. In addition vivo where seeds naturally infected were treated substance solution soybean oil, reducing incidence over days evaluated, as well used (thiophanate-methyl). addition, treatments did not affect germination initial seed vigour. first study demonstrate efficacy Ci. oil (E)-cinnamaldehyde on control through treatment seeds.

The common bean landrace G 2333 carries a three gene pyramid for anthracnose resistance: Co-4 2 , Co-5 and Co-7. The Co-4 2 gene is well characterized but less information is available on Co-5 and Co-7. The objectives of this study were to determine if a new allele of Co-5 is present in G 2333; to characterize the spectrum of resistance conditioned by the Co-7 gene by deriving lines which only ...
متن کاملAre duplicated genes responsible for anthracnose resistance in common bean?
The race 65 of Colletotrichum lindemuthianum, etiologic agent of anthracnose in common bean, is distributed worldwide, having great importance in breeding programs for anthracnose resistance. Several resistance alleles have been identified promoting resistance to this race. However, the variability that has been detected within race has made it difficult to obtain cultivars with durable resista...
متن کاملViability and stability of biological control agents on cotton and snap bean seeds.
Cotton and snap bean were selected for a multi-year, multi-state regional (south-eastern USA) research project to evaluate the efficacy of both commercial and experimental bacterial and fungal biological control agents for the management of damping-off diseases. The goal for this portion of the project was to determine the viability and stability of biological agents after application to seed. ...
